Current and Upcoming Events at Arthur Murray Dayton

Arthur Murray Dayton is off to our strongest start ever in 2012, our 100 year anniversary! We are breaking records in both teaching time and new student activity and 17 Prestige Plaza is the place to beJ

Check out our photo pages for the great parties we held in January. On the first Friday of the New Year we had another engagement. Fittingly, it was the grooms birthday. Bob Johnson and Dianne Buchanan started lessons with us a year ago on Bob's 80th birthday. On his 81st we announced the happy couples engagement. This was followed by a rousing ovation!! We are already busy choreographing their wedding waltz for the April nuptials

Bob and Dianne were accompanied that night by yet another couple who had had their marriage proposal at the studio, Kevin and Regina Payne. It was lovely to see them again!

Both Ed Simon and Terry Irwin were in during January for awesome coaching sessions. We are so fortunate to have such world class coaching available to us on a monthly basis!

We are looking forward to another wonderful month with some new activities that promise to become traditions. On February 10th we will attend the Make a Wish Foundation Valentine's Benefit at the Schuster Center. Our Century Club members will travel by limo to a downtown restaurant prior to the dance and will meet the other students at the Schuster for three hours of dancing to live music. Our star, Jennifer Rettig and partner Mario are well rehearsed and beautifully costumed! The author predicts a good outcome in their Dancing with the Stars contest that is a feature of this fundraiser!!

We are also attending the Second Annual American Style Congress in NYC in February. This great congress allows us to stay ahead of the curve in training both instructors and students alike. Many of the Arthur Murray Franchises and Dance Directors attend this event and return home to apply their learning on a regional level, such as at our area competitions.

Speaking of competitions, we are pleased to announce that our March 18th Cincinnati-Dayton Dance Classic will be adjudicated by Mirella Prohaska and partner Demetrius. Mirella and Demetrius will perform a fantastic 5 dance rhythm show at the conclusion of the day. Those of you who attended Empire State know what an inspirational dancer Mirella is!

Two days later our growing competitive group travel to NYC for the 100 year World Dance O Rama, which promises to be the largest event in Arthur Murray history. We will do some partying in addition to competing, of course. In concert with our Blue Ash school we will dine and see the Tony Award winning Anything Goes! There will be lots of free time to play In NYC!

One last note- Save the date of April 4th! This is Arthur Murray's birthday and on this date there will be dance parties celebrating Arthur Murrays 100 years through all time zones. The first, the largest and the best dance organization in the world make this possible with over 280 schools worldwide!! Happy Birthday, Arthur Murray!!!!
